11+ and 13+ Independent School Entry Preparation

Who it is for

Pupils preparing for entry to UK independent schools at 11+ or 13+.

What we do

We provide structured preparation for the ISEB Common Pre-Test, school-specific entrance papers, English, mathematics, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, interviews and assessment days. We begin with a diagnostic and build a realistic preparation plan with targeted practice and clear feedback.

Format

Small-group or one-to-one, online or in Oxford. Interview and assessment-day preparation can be added as a focused block before the school assessment.

Small-group Tuition

Who it is for

Children who learn better alongside peers, with discussion and a regular rhythm.

What we do

Four to six pupils per class, grouped by current level rather than age. There is a published syllabus, homework, a written report every term, and a conversation with parents.

Format

Weekly, term-time, online (evenings UK / weekend mornings for Asia) or in Oxford.

One-to-one Tuition and Writing

Who it is for

Children who need a plan of their own — to close a specific gap, to be stretched further, or to work seriously on their writing.

What we do

A diagnostic first, then an individual programme. It can target one weakness, push one strength further, or concentrate on structure, argument, vocabulary and style in writing, from creative composition at 11+ to essays at 13+ and beyond. Pupils build a portfolio and learn to redraft properly.

Format

Flexible scheduling; the minimum booking is half a term. Often run alongside a small-group class.

School Selection and Admissions Guidance

Who it is for

Families considering UK independent schools who would like a clearer, more manageable admissions plan.

What we do

We help families consider school fit, entry points, application timelines and preparation priorities. The guidance brings academic planning and admissions decisions together so that each family can focus its time and effort where they matter most.

Format

Consultations are available online or in Oxford, in English or Mandarin. The service provides educational and admissions guidance only; it does not include visa, immigration or legal advice.

We add a new service only when we can deliver it to the same standard. Two are planned: scholarship preparation, and a summer bridging course for pupils moving up to a new school year.
