Rigorous academics. Every child’s potential, made visible.

Oxford Chai Education prepares children for entrance to UK independent schools — the ISEB Common Pre-Test, interviews and assessment days — through small-group classes, one-to-one tuition and focused work on writing. We work with families in the UK, mainland China and Hong Kong, in English or Chinese.

What we do

Four kinds of support

ISEB & entrance exams

Structured preparation for the ISEB Common Pre-Test and school-specific papers: English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.

Interviews & assessment days

Confidence that is real: talking about your own ideas, working with a group, and staying clear under pressure.

Small-group classes

Four to six pupils, grouped by level rather than age — nobody is left behind and nobody is left idle.

One-to-one & writing

A diagnostic first, then a plan of your own, with the focus on argument, structure and style in writing.

Our approach

Get the foundations solid. Then look for the spark.

We start every family with a diagnostic, not a sales pitch. Progress is tracked against specific skills rather than scores alone, and explained in plain language. Competence first; confidence follows.

A diagnostic, in writing

Reading, writing, maths and reasoning, assessed within the first two lessons and written down.

A report every term

Short, specific, and something you can actually act on — in English or Chinese.

A straight answer

Which schools to aim for, how to phase the timeline, and what an offer really takes. We do not dress it up.

Not sure where to start?

Tell us about your child, the school they are at now and the schools you have in mind. We will suggest a realistic plan — and say so plainly if we are not the right fit.
